Dr. Chatterjee earned his Ph.D. in Electro-Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University and did post-doctoral work in the United States and Germany. He spent close to three decades as an executive engineer, with around a hundred scientific papers to his name.
Astrology began as a serious study in the late 1970s and became his life's work after he took voluntary retirement in October 1997. He trained formally as a Jyotirvid at the Indian Institute of Astrology, and went on to lecture on the invitation of the American Federation of Astrologers. The same rigour he brought to the laboratory, he brought to the chart.
He works strictly in the Parashari tradition, computes on the Lahiri ayanamsa, and treats astrology as a science of tendencies — predictions drawn not from intuition alone but from a research diary of worked case studies, built over decades.
